The screen between us

From 6 to 21 June 2025, the Intervalle gallery is delighted to return to 16 rue de Montmorency, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, a venue it first occupied during its collaboration with the Galerie Gosserez at the end of 2024. On this occasion, a group exhibition will bring together three artists represented by the gallery, Lulas Leffler (Belgium, 1993), Julien Mignot (France, 1981) and Jean-Vincent Simonet (France, 1991), around works conceived specifically for this space. All three artists explore how the screen connects us as much as it distances us: a tactile surface, an invisible boundary.

The Screen Between Us questions the impact of screens on our relationships, our perception and our memory. In Screenlove, Julien Mignot captures the fragility of digital connections. His images, taken from webcams, are trapped in translucent blocks: modern windows where we seek intimacy without ever really touching it. With Implosion, Lucas Leffler engraves images of Kodak's downfall onto used iPhone screens. He contrasts the disappearance of film with the rise of digital, offering old photography a poetic revenge on today's technologies. Jean-Vincent Simonet, in his series of works Spider Tactics, photographs the urbanism of megacities, then alters them with machines from his family's printing business. His works become X-rays of reality, where nature seems to be recreated by technological illusion.
