The Intervalle gallery is very happy to participate in the Parisian exhibition dedicated to photographic experimentation for the 4th time.

During the residency Lucas Leffler PICTO LAB / EXPERIMENTER L'IMAGE will develop his work on the technical-industrial transition that the photographic sector underwent in the late 2000s. It is particularly based on 2007, a year symbolically charged by the digital transition of the sector. This year saw the collapse of the silver industry with the destruction of the Kodak factories in Rochester (USA) and Châlon-sur-Saône (FR) for Implosion K Rochester (2022) due to bankruptcy.

The year 2007 is then especially marked by the arrival on the market of the first IPhone launched by the company Apple. This smartphone is now the device that has recorded the most photographic images and symbolizes the digital turn taken by the sector. This phone is now celebrating its fifteenth anniversary. This research project is therefore about the technological obsolescence linked to the photographic medium by relying on this precise period which saw the collapse of Kodak, among others. The collapse of an industry that had not integrated quickly enough that the new technical mutations had not only modified the way images were produced, but that they were more about the way they were used.
