Galerie Intervalle is delighted to accept the invitation from Galerie Gosserez for this collaborative exhibition bringing together artists from both spaces. The physical presence of material works triggers a unique aesthetic experience, whether in a public space for the duration of a visit, or for life in a collector's home. Material is at the heart of the preoccupations of the artists featured in the exhibition. Galerie Gosserez's artist-designers work with raw materials, by hand, like demiurges. Through the organic forms they give to their art furniture, they pay homage to Mother Nature. Galerie Intervalle presents photographs in which material and experimentation are paramount. Like the pioneers of photography 150 years ago, three photographers reinvent the medium. The photosensitive sludge from a stream polluted by an Agfa film factory becomes silver emulsion, giving birth to organic photographs. Sometimes going against the grain of our century, where progress is draped in immateriality, these artists, each in their own way, celebrate the primacy of the tangible, inviting us to take the shortest route to the pleasure of the senses.
