In Bleached Moments, Lucas Leffler explores Kodak’s photographic archives, aiming to reveal the industrial memory and the imagined world crafted by the brand. Drawing on production stills, advertisements, and factory views from the archives of the Nicéphore Niépce Museum, he isolates fragments which he reproduces as C-type prints, subsequently subjected to chemical alteration. These interventions turn the images into unstable surfaces, suspended between disappearance and resurgence. Leffler highlights the tangible materiality of analog photography, in stark contrast to digital immediacy. His artistic gesture challenges the advertising aesthetics of a vanished era and the ways Kodak shaped our relationship to photography, memory, and technology. The project was produced during residencies at Picto Lab and the Nicéphore Niépce Museum, and will be published by RVB Books in 2025.
