Dans Bleached Moments, Lucas Leffler remonte le fil du temps de l’entreprise Kodak pour en faire affleurer notre mémoire visuelle forgée par des décennies d’images. À partir d’archives photographiques issues des collections du musée Nicéphore Niépce, des vues d’usine, des clichés de production ou des publicités, l’artiste isole des fragments qu’il développe lui-même en tirages chromogènes, une technique argentique aux teintes subtiles avant de les altérer chimiquement, introduisant des perturbations, des effacements ou des résurgences.
Les images ainsi transformées perdent leur fonction documentaire pour devenir des surfaces instables, presque organiques. Elles évoquent la fragilité de la mémoire et réinscrivent l’accident au cœur du processus photographique, à rebours de la reproductibilité fluide et aseptisée du numérique.
Réalisé dans le cadre des résidences Picto Lab et musée Nicéphore Niépce, ce projet fera l’objet d’une publication chez RVB Books à l’automne 2025.
