Après avoir reçu le prestigieux Hariban Award en 2015, Cairns a continué à créer des collotypes avec le célèbre studio Benrido, à Kyoto, au Japon. Le LDN4 Collotype Portfolio se compose de 10 collotypes imprimés sur le papier japonais traditionnel Echizen Gampi blanc, combinant innovation artistique contemporaine et savoir-faire ancestral. La série s'inspire de ses explorations nocturnes de Londres, l'une des villes qui nourrit son imagination. Son approche est unique : il photographie en argentique noir & blanc 35 mm puis transforme les négatifs en positifs, créant ainsi l'une des nombreuses couches d'abstraction propres à sa méthode de travail. Chaque épreuve photographique est accompagnée de sa plaque de verre originale, offrant aux collectionneurs une expérience unique : un dialogue entre l'objet artisanal et l'image imprimée.
