For its third participation in the show in 5 editions (2017, 2020, 2021), Intervalle offers a solo show by Antony Cairns, CYT: HIGH RISE, with two iconic experiments by this English artist. Antony Cairns?s work combines tradition, experimentation and nostalgia for the origins of digital technology. Cairns produces unique pieces of photographs representing megalopolises like Tokyo, London or New York. Antony Cairns is both a master darkroom shooter and a brilliantly futuristic geek. He masters both traditional processes and printing on obsolete digital media. In Computer Punch Card, Antony Cairns explores digital prehistory by printing his photographic works on the first computer punch cards to be found and assembled into montages. The E.I. Screens, strange descendants of the daguerreotype, present the same urban photographic corpus, this time reproduced by electronic ink on the boneless screens of pirated e-readers. Antony Cairns (London, 1980) is a visual artist who has exhibited and published widely in Europe, the United States and Japan, in numerous galleries and in prestigious museums such as the Tate Modern in London in 2018. He won in 2015 the Hariban Prize awarded by Benrido Collotype in Kyoto.
