In November 2016, Galerie Intervalle participated in Fotofever Paris, held at the Carrousel du Louvre, with three artists whose work it was then supporting: Elena Chernyshova, Julien Mauve, and Polly Tootal. For its fifth edition, the fair reaffirmed its support for a new generation of artists and galleries, prioritizing contemporary approaches and emerging projects.
Intervalle presented three unique perspectives on the contemporary world. Elena Chernyshova documents living conditions in Norilsk, an industrial city in the Russian Arctic. Julien Mauve develops a narrative form of photography—blurring the lines between reality and fiction—that explores our relationship with the environment and new technologies. Polly Tootal, for her part, examines contemporary British landscapes, their transformations, and the depopulated spaces that reveal their contradictions. This participation highlights the gallery’s early years and its commitment to contemporary photography that is attuned to the changes of our time.
