For its participation in the Approche art fair, Intervalle presents a selection of works by Antony Cairns from the CTY series, featuring his iconic E-Screens and two large Punchcards.

With CTY, Cairns explores the contemporary city through fragmented, altered images transposed onto media that challenge traditional forms of photography. The E-Screens, composed of multiple fragments of urban images, reveal a multiplied, unstable, almost abstract city. Alongside them, the two large Punchcards extend this exploration into a more sculptural dimension: perforated, cut out, and materialized, the image becomes a physical surface as much as a photographic medium.

This presentation reveals how Cairns transforms photography into a hybrid object, situated at the intersection of image, material, and architecture. This work resonates particularly well with the exhibition’s experimental approach.
