Biography
Julien Mauve, visual artist and musician, explores persistent dystopia through stagings inspired by myths and legends. His visual narratives question our future in the face of contemporary threats, reflecting on what the world would become without us. Julien Mauve uses the aesthetics and codes of cinema to give his photographs a unique narrative and emotional dimension. Playing with sci-fi atmospheres and themes of solitude, he invites viewers to enter a visual universe that seems to capture fragments of unfinished stories. His works, both cinematic and poetic, open a door to imaginary worlds imbued with mystery, in the manner of Gregory Crewdson. Julien Mauve has published two books with Editions Poursuite: L'Indifférence des étoiles (2016) and Titanic Orchestra (2017). His work has earned him several prestigious awards, including the SFR Jeunes Talents in 2013, the Sony World Photography Award in 2016 and the Bourse Du Talent in 2018.
