Lucas Leffler, an artist whose work is now in the collections of the Musée de L'Elysée in Lausanne and the FOMU in Antwerp, began his artistic exploration after discovering a fascinating story in the archives of the Agfa-Gevaert factory. Two workers in the 1930s, searching for money in the mud polluted by their factory in Antwerp, inspired Lucas. Fascinated by their adventure, he collected silver mud from the Silver Creek and, after months of testing, created his own photographic emulsion. His experimental silver prints, depicting the river and the industrial site, combine art, performance and a personal quest for the Holy Grail.
